Knights Lose to Eagles

Grayson, KY – The Kentucky Christian football team looked to move their record to 4-0 in this most unusual and unprecedented 2021 season. Unfortunately, Faulkner University had other things on their minds. The Eagles scored the final two touchdowns of the contest and pushed their winning score to 22-38.
Knights Stats
- Under center, Jakwon Roberts (SR/Smiths Station, AL) threw for 175 yards on 17-30 attempts, with a touchdown and two interceptions. On the ground, he gained 24 yards on five attempts with a touchdown.
- Dae'vontay Latimer (SO/Dayton, OH) led KCU in rushing with a career high 84 yards.
- For the receivers, Brendan Ray (JR/Birmingham, AL) led the Knights with 48 receiving yards and a TD. Just behind him was Traveon Auzenne (SO/Houston, TX)'s lone reception for 46 yards which was the long reception for KCU.
- For the second consecutive game, Anthony Grant (SO/Augusta, GA) collected a game high in tackles … his 22 (6 solo/16 assisted tackles) his new career high. Also reaching double digit tackles, Trey Malashevich (SR/Ceredo, WV) was credited with 12; 3 solo and 9 assisted.
Team Totals
- With 18 first downs, the Knights fell 12 short of their season average (30).
- KCU failed to reach the 500 total yards threshold for the first time this season.
The Winning Factor
- The play of Cade Young as he threw for three touchdowns and kept several crucial drives alive with his 87 net rushing yards.
Who's Up Next
The Knights with travel to Bluefield College next Saturday for a rematch with the Rams. The game time is set for 3:00 PM.
