Women's Soccer Loses Close Game
Grayson, KY – The KCU women's soccer team hosted the Skyhawks of Point University in an AAC conference tilt. Point entered the game tied for 4th Place in the conference and on paper, this contest looked to be an easy win for the visitors, but not so fast!!!
With the 1st half ending in a 0-0 tie, KCU looked to pull off a significant upset, unfortunately, the Skyhawks Marissa Amaya placed a header in the net off a corner kick from Carmen Kager. The remainder of the game was a defensive struggle for both teams, neither squad being able to score again. Point won 0-1.
Knights Stats
- Victoria Damian (FR/Abilene, TX) and Cacia Larsen (SO/Salt Lake City, UT) placed one shot each on goal during their 90 minutes on the pitch.
- Millie Conod (FR/Walsall, England) stopped four of the five shots she faced.
Team Totals
- Defense was key for KCU as the back half of the Knights defense kept the team in position to steal the win. They allowed only six shots on goal for the game.
The Winning Factor
- An excellent set play by the PU offense was the difference.
