Kentucky Christian University Appoints Todd Maynard as Head Coach of Women's Basketball Program
Kentucky Christian University has named Todd Maynard as the new head coach of the Knights women's basketball team, bringing a seasoned leader and alumnus back to his alma mater.
Maynard, a 2012 graduate of KCU with a bachelor's degree in University Studies/Biblical Studies and a minor in Business Management, was a key player during two of the program's most successful seasons. In 2007–2008, he contributed to the Knights' regional championship and Final Four appearance in the NCCAA National Tournament. The following season, the team repeated as regional champions and advanced to the Elite Eight nationally.
Before returning to KCU, Maynard built a notable coaching career at the high school level. Most recently, he served four years as head boys' basketball coach at Huntington St. Joe High School, leading the program to three regional championships and three state tournament appearances. His 2021–2022 team reached the state Final Four, earning him the Herald-Dispatch Tri-State Coach of the Year honor. Over his tenure, nine of his players received All-State recognition.
Prior to St. Joe, Maynard was the head coach at Tolsia High School, where his 2018–2019 team captured a sectional title and finished as regional runner-up. He also gained experience as a lead assistant coach at Spring Valley High School in West Virginia.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Maynard serves as Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at KCU. He holds a master's degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University and a post-master's degree in Advanced Educational Leadership from Salem University.
Todd and his wife, Sara, reside in Huntington, West Virginia, with their children Mason, Tucker, Layla, Paisley, and Sadie. As he begins this new chapter, Maynard looks forward to investing in student-athletes and helping build a strong future for Lady Knights basketball.
