Lady Knights Explode for 16 Runs
If game one was about late-game drama, game two was about offensive dominance.
Kentucky Christian wasted little time getting on the board, scoring in the first inning before adding three more runs in the second. The game broke wide open in the third inning when the Lady Knights erupted for an 11-run inning.
The offensive explosion featured several big swings, highlighted by a four-run home run from Ariana Adams that helped fuel the rally. RBI hits from Alyna Ruiz, Alexis Holleman, Trina Porter, and Rebecca Engler kept the lineup rolling as Kentucky Christian batted around and built a commanding lead.
By the end of the third inning, the Lady Knights had pushed their advantage to 15–0.
Kentucky Christian added one more run in the fourth before closing out the game with a dominant defensive performance to secure the 16–0 run-rule victory. The Lady Knights finished with 17 hits in the contest.
Ritchhart said the second game showed the team's offensive potential.
"Once our lineup started stringing hits together, you could feel the energy build in the dugout," Ritchhart said. "The 11-run inning really showed what this group can do when they stay aggressive at the plate and play for each other."
With the doubleheader performance, Kentucky Christian improves to 9–7 overall and 3–3 in conference play. The Lady Knights will look to carry the momentum from both the dramatic comeback and the explosive offense into their next matchup.
