Knights Rain 3's on ThunderHawks
Grayson, KY – Kentucky Christian made the first basket of the game, a lay-in by senior Hayden Dunn and never looked back as the Knights defeated Miami University-Middletown 108-86.
In a game that KCU never trailed, the team shot 55% from the floor and 39% (11-28) from 3-pt range. They also hit on 75% of their free throws. For the game, the Knights' offense produced 25 assists and only committed eight turnovers … a 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio that would have every basketball coach in the United States giddy. And, by the way, scored 50+ points in both halves. A pretty good "K"nights work.
Fourteen different players hit the scoring column for KCU, led by Dunn's 23 pts. and seven rebs., both game highs. He connected on 8-13 fgs and 7-9 on free throws to go with his five assists. Offensively, four other Knights reached double digits. Brandon Barnes dropped in 16 pts on 6-9 shooting and 4-6 on 3's. Next was KCU freshman, Isaiah Smith and his 12 pts. on 6-11 fgs, including a thunderous dunk in the second half.
Chase Porter and Carson Taylor had 11 pts. each with Taylor getting three of his buckets from behind the arc. Directing the offense, Owens Crawford led everyone with his eight assists. Next up for the Knights are the Boyce College Bulldogs as KCU hosts their final men's basketball game of the 2017-18 season on Tuesday at 7:00PM.
