Knights Sweep Series With UC Clermont
Grayson, KY – The University of Cincinnati-Clermont Cougars came into the game seeking to repay KCU for the loss suffered on their home court last week, but it was not to be as the Knights defended home court with a 98-75 win.
KCU surrendered the same point total as they did on the January 23rd meeting (75), but were able to score eight additional points in the friendly confines of the Damron Hall of Champions. By shooting a solid 46.2% from the field and over 70% from the free throw line, the Knights avoided any possibility of the upset. KCU pulled down nine more rebounds than their opponents which led to three additional shots for the night.
Connor Maddox got things going for the team as he poured in 17 of his 20 total points before half-time. He hit on 7-13 fgs., and connected on 5-9 from three-point land. While tying Maddox with 20 pts. for game high scoring honors, Hayden Dunn also produced a double-double by hauling in 10 rebs … and going a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe. Two other Knights, Brandon Barnes and Chase Porter, also reached double figures for the game by adding 11 and 12 pts. respectively.
Kentucky Christian returns to action as they host Miami University Middletown on Friday for the annual Homecoming festivities. The tip is set for 8:00PM.
