Knights Mid-Season Update: KCU Players of the Week Shine as Program Momentum Builds
Grayson, KY — The 2025 season has marked a turning point for Kentucky Christian University football, as the Knights continue to climb under Head Coach Jason Aubry. At the midway point of the year, the Knights stand at 3–3 overall (1–1 AAC) with signature performances against both conference competition and NCAA Division II opponents.
Throughout the first half of the season, several Knights have earned Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors and have been instrumental in shaping the program's growing identity.
Offensive Standouts
Jackson Wasik (QB) — A steady leader and playmaker, Wasik has already surpassed 1,800 passing yards this season, orchestrating one of the most dynamic offenses in the AAC. His 408-yard, 5-touchdown performance against NCAA Division II Central State University led KCU to one of the biggest wins in program history.
"Jackson continues to grow as a field general," said Coach Aubry. "He's playing with great confidence and making everyone around him better."
Jalen Briscoe (WR) — The Knights' top deep-threat, Briscoe's explosiveness has been on full display all season. He hauled in two touchdowns and 134 yardsin the win over Central State, solidifying his place among the AAC's elite receivers.
Jason Cobb (WR) — A versatile offensive weapon, Cobb has consistently delivered in clutch situations. His ability to create separation and make tough catches has made him a reliable target for Wasik throughout the season. Cobb's presence in the red zone and leadership in the locker room have been vital to KCU's offensive rhythm.
Jovari Gamble (RB) — A physical runner with explosive power, Gamble set the tone in KCU's 42–6 victory over Rio Grande, rushing for 99 yards and two touchdowns. His downhill style and toughness have become trademarks of the Knights' offensive identity.
Defensive Game Changers
Dashawn Webster (LB) — One of the AAC's most productive tacklers, Webster has been the heartbeat of KCU's front seven. His 68-yard fumble return for a touchdown against Reinhardt showcased his playmaking ability and leadership in key moments. His energy and toughness set the tone each week for the Knights' defense.
Chase Hall (LB) — A vocal and emotional leader on defense, Hall has been relentless in pursuit of the football. His instincts and physicality have helped anchor KCU's run defense and bring stability to the linebacker unit.
JaTarius Randolph (DL) — A disruptive force on the defensive line, Randolph consistently pressures the quarterback and shuts down the run game. His strength, technique, and playmaking ability have made him a cornerstone of the Knights' defense.
A Program on the Rise
Under Coach Aubry's leadership, the Knights have made visible strides in performance, preparation, and confidence. Their ability to go toe-to-toe with perennial AAC power Reinhardt and secure a historic victory over NCAA Division II Central State demonstrates the direction and momentum of the program.
"Our young men are learning how to play complementary football," said Aubry. "They're competing every day, and we're seeing real progress as a team and as a program."
As the Knights enter the second half of the 2025 season, they aim to build on their momentum and continue establishing KCU football as a rising force within the AAC.
