Knights Lose at St. Andrews

Laurinburg, NC – The Knights football team took a 17-15 lead into halftime and into the 4th quarter but were unable to maintain the advantage. SAU put up two touchdowns in the final period that secured a 24-35 win for the home team.
Knights Stats
- Justin White (SR/El Paso, TX) completed 23-35 passes for 265 yards with three TDs and two INTs.
- On the ground, Jordan Brown (FR/Knoxville, TN) led the team with 94 yards on 18 attempts. He averaged 5.2 yards per attempt.
- Jaylen Fortune (JR/Pensacola, FL) averaged 22-yds per catch for 154 total receiving yards and a touchdown. Demontez Coleman (JR/Dickson, TN) and Diego Soto (SO/Orange Park, FL) added a touchdown each.
- Antwan McCary (JR/Birmingham, AL) led the defense with seven solo tackles with eight overall. Just behind Coleman, Tamichael Shellman Jr (SO/Jacksonville, FL) had five solo tackles.
Team Totals
- KCU held a 19-14 lead in first downs and a 404-359 advantage in total yardage but were unable to sustain that push into and throughout the last quarter.
- The Knights also held a 33:05-26:55 advantage in time of possession.
The Winning Factor
- SAU controlled the fourth quarter and a decided lead in return yardage.
