Knights Furious Comeback Falls Just Short
Lake Wales, FL – Kentucky Christian traveled to Florida for the next opponent on the schedule as they played Warner University. With the home standing Royals seemingly in complete control of the game entering the 4th quarter, the Knights put three scores on the scoreboard and got the ball back deep in their own end of the field. With one final chance to take the lead, KCU could not complete the comeback losing 21-27.
Knights Stats
- Justin White (SR/El Paso, TX) started the game under center and completed 23 of 45 passes for 287 yards. He threw for two touchdowns and two interceptions with a long pass of 55 yards for one of his touchdowns to Kody Washington (SR/Jesup, GA).
- On the ground, KCU was led by Jordan Brown (FR/Knoxville, TN)'s 47 yards (4.3 yds /att) and a two-yard TD led KCU. Jarrett Hampton (FR/Fort Lauderdale, FL) had 24 yards rushing along with Jaylen Fortune (JR/Pensacola, FL)'s 18.
- Traveon Auzenne (JR/Houston, TX) led the receiving corps with 82 receiving yards (27.3 yds/catch) on three catches Followed by Washington's 79 yards (19.8 yds/catch) on four receptions.
- Defensively, Devin Bacchus (SR/Homewood, AL) produced double-digit tackles with 11; eight of those were solo tackles. Right on Bacchus' heels was Lilton Horne (JR/Washington Park, FL) with five solo and three assisted tackles. Horne also collected his first interception of the season.
