Knights Football Win at Bluefield

Bluefield, VA – The Kentucky Christian University football team traveled to Bluefield College this afternoon to take on the Rams. This is the second meeting of the two teams this season and given the result of the first contest, BC looked primed to seek revenge. Unfortunately for the home fans, the result wasn't much different as KCU on by a 31-7 score.
Knights Stats
- Leading the team from under center, Jakwon Roberts (SR/Smiths Station, AL) was 9-18 for 144 yards (49-yard long) throwing the ball and added three touchdowns to his season total that now stands at eleven. He also added 20 net yards running the ball.
- Dae'vontay Latimer (SO/Dayton, OH) led the ground game with 91 rushing yards on 20 carries and a log of 19-yds, while Tyrese Christian (FR/Chicago, IL) was just behind him with 87 yards on 21 carries.
- Three KCU receivers found paydirt as Jaylen Fortune (SO/Pensacola, FL), Jaylen Hawthorne (SO/Harrisburg, PA) and Diego Soto (FR/Orange Park, FL) all collected touchdowns.
- Devin Bacchus (JR/Homewood, AL) entered the scoring column as he reached the endzone on a 65-yard scoop-and-score to represent the defense.
- Paul Rodriguez (JR/Placentia, CA) scored seven points as he made his debut in the Knights kicker's role.
Team Totals
- Following last week's brief departure from the 30+ first down club, KCU once again crossed that threshold. The offense produced 31 this week.
- The offense collects 244 rushing yards and 172 yards through the air for 416 total yards.
- Defensively, the Knights held Bluefield to 159 total yards.
The Winning Factor
- The defensive effort highlighted by the Baccus touchdown and holding the BC passing game to 108 yards plus an interception.
Who's Up Next
The Knights travel to Point University next Saturday to take on the Skyhawks. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
