SkyHawks Soar at Kentucky Christian
Grayson, KY – The Kentucky Christian University football team hosted the SkyHawks of Point University losing 12-27.
During the contest, the Knights moved the ball all over the field but just couldn't find the endzone. KCU ran off 99 plays to their opponents 68 and gained 494 yards from scrimmage which was 65 more than PU. In the all-important first down category, KCU held a 28-20 margin but in the most important category, the score … Point held the edge.
For KCU, Josh Drucker completed 38-65 attempts for 428 yds and two touchdowns but he was intercepted four times that ended promising scoring opportunities. The Point defense did a good job of containing the Knights rushing offense as they held to only 66 net yards. Barkei Minter was the most successful in that category with 50 yds. The three amigos of Kris Lewis (132 yds), DeVon McCoy (116 yds) and Anton Wheeler (106 yds) all eclipsed the 100-yd receiving barrier, with McCoy hauling in two TD passes.
Next for Kentucky Christian is a trip to Barbourville, KY and a date with the Bulldogs of Union College. Game time is set for 1:30 PM.
