Football Loses at Home to Warner
Grayson, KY – Entering today's game with the Royals of Warner University, the Knights owned a 2-2 record and following a first half 21-7 lead it appeared they would notch their third win of the season, byt that was not to be. Warner stormed back in the second half by posting 56 points and taking the 63-35 win.
By scoring 28 consecutive fourth quarter points, the Royals eliminated any possibility of a late comeback by Kentucky Christian. KCU turnovers, special team's scores and defensive scores fueled the scoreboard blitzkrieg. For the contest, the stats were relatively even with the exception of three lost fumbles by the home team which sealed their fate.
With Kentucky Christian scoring 35 points, there were several individual performances worth noting. De'Anta Sipp collected 165 net yards from scrimmage on 26 attempts (6.3 yds/carry) and two touchdowns. Devon McCoy and Anton Wheeler both hauled in TD passes for Josh Drucker but WU just played a much stronger and more physical second half and had their way with KCU on both sides of the ball.
Things don't get any easier for the Knights as they host #14 Rinhardt University next Saturday. The game has a scheduled 1:30PM kickoff.
