KCU Football at Lamar University
Beaumont, TX – The Kentucky Christian University football team traveled to the Lone Star state to take on NCAA I Lamar University for their first game of this young season. An opportunity to play under the "Big" lights on ESPN3 was too tempting not to accept.
With the level of athleticism KCU would face, it would be a monumental task to pull off the upset and the 7,000+ LU fans made that task even more difficult. When the final second had ticked off the clock, the score read 7-70 but this young team had valuable experience and a great memory from which to draw.
On the field, KCU was led in rushing by Javin Harrison who had the longest gain of the night with a 36-yard scamper and finished the game averaging 4.1 yds/carry. Jug Smith Accounted for 121 passing yards and the lone Kentucky Christian score as he connected with Dametric McGrue on a 49 yd. strike to the end zone. It was the longest completion for the evening for the Knights.
KCU continues their road warrior ways as they travel to Warner University in Lake Wales, FL next Saturday for a 1:30 kick-off.
