2017 Mid-South Bluegrass Division Awards

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The 2017 All-Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division teams and individual award winners were announced by conference officials on Thursday.

Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Dylan Beasley is the Craig Mullins MSC Bluegrass Offensive Player of the Year, while Lindsey Wilson's Trent Mueller is the MSC Bluegrass Defensive Player of the Year.

The individual awards and all-conference teams are selected by a vote of the Bluegrass Division's coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.

In addition to the players of the year, Kentucky Christian's De'Anta Sipp is the Bluegrass Offensive Freshman of the Year and Campbellsville's (Ky.) Jaceree Caldwell is the Bluegrass Defensive Freshman of the Year. Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Chris Oliver is the 2017 Ron Finley Bluegrass Division Coach of the Year. Beasley finished the year throwing for 2,384 yards, 31 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He guided the No. 4 Blue Raiders to a 10-0 regular season and the MSC Bluegrass title. Beasley averaged 264.9 yards per game which rank third in the conference and his 31 touchdowns rank second. Beasley also finished with passing efficiency of 173.8, second best in the Mid-South.

Mueller registered a conference-high 102 tackles and totaled five tackles for loss. His 102 tackles also rank eighth in the NAIA. Mueller added 1.5 sacks and one interception on the season. Mueller earned two MSC Bluegrass Defensive Player of the Week awards and anchored the Blue Raider defense that only let up 19.6 points per game.

Sipp rushed for 913 yards and six touchdowns in his freshman campaign. Sipp was the fourth best rusher in the Mid-South racking up 91.3 yards per game for the Knights. He also added 13 receptions for 76 yards on offense.

Caldwell made 37 tackles in his first year for the Tigers. Caldwell ranked 10th in the Mid-South with 12 tackles for loss and also tallied 4.5 sacks. Caldwell was also credited for three forced fumbles which is tied for third-best in the MSC.

Oliver led Lindsey Wilson to a 10-0 regular season and the program's second Mid-South regular season title. The Blue Raiders are currently ranked No. 4 in the NAIA and advanced to the postseason for the fourth consecutive year. This is Oliver's second coach of the year award.

Thirty-two players earned first team all-conference honors and 26 were selected second team all-conference as voted on by the coaches. Ties for all-conference teams were not broken.
