KCU Football Honored With All Commonwealth Selections
Lexington, KY - The Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame proudly presents the Community Trust Bank 2017 Kentucky's Collegiate All Commonwealth Team.
The Kentucky Collegiate All Commonwealth Team is a pre-season recognition award for football players attending a Kentucky college or university. The Kentucky Collegiate All Commonwealth Team represents the best college football players that the state of Kentucky has to offer while their dedication to the game has contributed significantly to their teams. The player shall have the distinctive responsibility to lead his teammates in the classroom and on the field. Players that exhibit this unique leadership skill were nominated by their University/College to be recognized as a member of the Kentucky All Commonwealth Team. The Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame is proud to add Javin Harrison, Darren Pendergrass, Robert Powell and Caden Stephens from Kentucky Christian University to this illustrious group.
Harrison (Sr) provided 464 all-purpose yards for the Knights offense and appeared in all eleven games. His 4.9 rushing average led the squad. Also on the offensive side of the ball, Pendergrass (Sr) amassed 329 receiving yards on 29 catches, in ten games played. From the quarterback position, Powell (Sr) led the team with 1,542 total yards from scrimmage. He averaged 147.2 passing yards in his nine games played and threw for a team leading nine touchdowns. Stephens (So) saw action in three games as a true freshman during the 2016 season.
The awards will be handed out to the players during the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame 2017 Induction Ceremony which will take place at the Lexington Opera House on June 23rd at 7:00pm. Tickets will be available by calling the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame at 859-276-3488.
