KCU Cheerleading Competes at Regional Competition
The Kentucky Christian University Cheerleading Squad traveled to Louisville, Kentucky on January 30th to compete at the Christian Cheerleaders of America (CCA) regional competition.
Head Coach, Lauren Curley, had this to say about her team's performance: "The squad has worked very hard through some adversity since we came back from the semester break. Today, they showed what they were made of and had a very good performance with only a couple mistakes. We would like to thank the parents and friends that came to Louisville and a special thank you to Diane Mansfield [KCU Board Chair] for coming and supporting our team. After this weekend, we are very excited about CCA nationals at the end of the month. It was a blessing all the way around."
The squad was named the Classic Champion and also received a bid to the national competition, which will be held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 27th. This is their third consecutive year competing at nationals in hopes of bringing home a national title. The squad has received second place the past two years in the small co-ed division.
