Lady Knights Celebrate Bell Sparks on Senior Day
On February 14, inside Donald R. "Dick" Damron Hall of Champions on Ron Arnett Court, Kentucky Christian University will pause to honor one of the most impactful players in Lady Knights basketball history as Bell Sparks is recognized on Senior Day.
Sparks' senior season has been nothing short of special. Entering the contest, she is averaging 15 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 2 assists per game, serving as a steady offensive force and dependable leader for the Lady Knights.
"Bell has been the kind of player every coach hopes to have," said Women's Head Coach Dr. Dean Brand. "She shows up every day prepared, committed, and willing to do whatever the team needs. Her growth over four years has been incredible to watch."
During her career at KCU, Sparks has appeared in 111 games, earning the starting nod in 80 of them. Her consistency and durability are reflected in her 2,594 career minutes played, including 921 minutes during the 2024–2025 season alone, a testament to the trust placed in her by the coaching staff.
"Bell's availability and reliability have been huge for our program," Brand added. "She's someone we've been able to count on in big moments, and that kind of trust is earned."
Efficiency has been a hallmark of Sparks' game. She owns a career field goal percentage of 46.6%, highlighted by a remarkable 55.2% shooting mark this season, the best of her collegiate career. Her ability to score efficiently and make smart decisions with the basketball has made her one of the most dependable offensive weapons the Lady Knights have seen.
That production has been translated into history. Sparks has scored 1,505 career points and counting, including a career-high 549 points during the 2024–2025 season.
"Bell's numbers speak for themselves, but what stands out most is who she is as a person," Brand said. "She leads with humility, serves her teammates, and represents Kentucky Christian University the right way."
Beyond the statistics, Sparks' faith has been a defining part of her journey. Her favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:31 — 'If God is for us, who can be against us', reflects the confidence, resilience, and purpose with which she has competed throughout her career.
As she takes the floor one final time on Ron Arnett Court for Senior Day, the Kentucky Christian community celebrates not only an accomplished athlete, but a leader, teammate, and role model whose impact will be felt long after the final buzzer.
"Bell leaves this program better than she found it," Brand said. "Her legacy isn't just measured in points or wins, but in the way she lived out her faith, led her teammates, and represented Kentucky Christian University every single day. She set a standard that will last well beyond her final game."
Kentucky Christian University proudly thanks Bell Sparks for four unforgettable seasons and honors her for a career that will stand among the best in Lady Knights basketball history.
