Knights Men's Soccer Splits Missouri Road Trip
The Knights men's soccer team concluded their Missouri road trip with a 1-1 record, showcasing a formidable defense and fostering team camaraderie through shared experiences.
In their first match against Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, the Knights delivered an exceptional defensive performance, preventing the Saints from scoring throughout the game. With less than five minutes remaining, forward Jason Petrey netted the decisive goal, securing a 1-0 victory for the Knights.
The following day, the team faced Ozark Christian College in Joplin under rainy conditions. Freshman forward Alan Wireman scored the Knights' lone goal in a challenging 4-1 loss. Despite the outcome, the match was characterized by the team's resilience and determination.
Beyond the competition, the trip provided valuable opportunities for team bonding. On Sunday, the Knights attended a service at Christ Church, followed by a day of fellowship. Coach Miller expressed gratitude to Landon Williams, his family, and Eli Randol's family for their hospitality, which included providing meals and organizing activities that strengthened team unity.
The Missouri trip offered the Knights a chance to compete against respected National Christian College Athletic Association programs and deepen their team bonds, resulting in both athletic growth and memorable shared experiences.
