Softball Loses Close at Brenau

Gainesville, GA – For the second day in a row, Kentucky Christian’s softball team had a playing appointment with an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Top-3 opponent. Today, it was the #3 Brenau University Tigers, having swept #4 Tennessee Wesleyan yesterday, as they defeated the Knights 2-3 in the first game and followed it up with an 8-11 victory in the nightcap.
Game 1
- Kaytlin Leyvas led the Lady Knights with three hits in four official plate appearances while scoring one of her teams two runs.
- Scoring KCU’s other run, Katelyn Pavey was 1-2 with an RBI.
- Ashton Blackburn took the loss following a complete-game effort. She conceded three earned runs, striking out three and walking four.
Game 2
- KCU’s designated player for game two, Victoria Breckler went 3-4 batting in the clean-up spot and drove in two runs while scoring one herself. She also produced the only two extra-base hits with a 2nd inning double and a 6th inning home run.
- Emma Ball, Hannah Ison, Acie Prince, and Erica Vain each had two hits during the game.
- Emma Fromm was tagged with the loss, giving up four runs (three earned) with a strike out and a walk.
Who's Up Next
The Lady Knights extend their road trip as the play the #2 Truett McConnell Bears on Thursday. The doubleheader is set for 2 & 4 PM.
