Knights Drops Series Finale to WSL
Grayson, KY – The Knights stayed in it until the end, but Wright State Lake University pulled away late in a 10-6 victory on Saturday. With the game tied at six and Wright State Lake batting in the top of the tenth, Genant singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and opened the floodgates for the Lakers.
KCU took an early lead in the third inning as Cody Holub drove in two with a triple. In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Knights tied things up at six when Josh Kellogg doubled and drove in two.
The team tallied nine hits in the game. Cameron Marushi and Cristian Garcia each had multiple hits for the Knights as they collected two hits to lead KCU.
Zach Pope took the loss for Knights. The pitcher surrendered three runs on one hit over one-third of an inning. Austin Thompson started the game for Knights. The righty lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four.
