Men’s Golf Weekend Wrap-up
The KCU men’s golf team just completed four days of intense golf action as they competed in the Alice Lloyd College Men’s Spring Invitational (March 25-26), held in Richmond, KY, and the St. Andrews University Deercroft Spring Break Invitational (March 27-28), in Wagram, NC. Both tournaments boasted large fields that made for really good play even though conditions varied widely.
The Alice Lloyd tourney began on Saturday with 25 mph sustained winds and gusts up to 40 mph throughout the entire day causing the first-round scoring to hit the ceiling. Round 1’s scoring average hit 85.93 on this Par 70 layout. Day 2 was significantly better as the winds dropped to a more manageable 5-10 mph and the scores responded accordingly as the average came in at 79.54 strokes.
