KCU Volleyball Wins in Three vs Columbia
Grayson, KY - KCU’s VolleyKnights welcomed the Koalas of Columbia College to the Damron Hall of Champions for Day 1 of the final weekend of home matches for Kentucky Christian. Though Columbia was playing with tremendous energy, the Knights won in straight sets; 25-20, 25-17, and 29-27.
Kristin Upshaw-Mendoza just missed a double-double on this day, she led her team with 11 kills and collected nine digs as well as two aces. Right behind her in the kill column on the stat sheet was the duo of Emily Adkins (8) and Delanie Gilliland (7). Gwen Messer also added 6 kills. Rounding out the offense, Kileigh Boggs and Lyndi Starkey had 19 assists each while leading their respective side of the rotation.
Defensively, two VolleyKnights had double-digit dig numbers, led by Anna Cruser’s 14 while Ashlyn Funk was credited with 12 digs.
