Circleville, OH – Kentucky Christian University traveled two hours up US-23 to play Ohio Christian University and left with a hard fought 5-set victory.

The VolleyKnights took the first set 25-17 only drop the next two by 25-27 and 23-25 scores. KCU took control of the fourth set and posted the same score as set one. This set the stage for the fifth and deciding set in what turned out to be an exciting and drama filled match. The Lady Knights had produced a two point lead when the teams exchanged sides at the 8-point mark only to see the Trailblazers come back to tie it up (13-13).  Everything was in place for a Lady Knights' win when KCU scored the next point and had the serve with a 14-13 lead, but inspired play by OCU tied the score at 14. The team sided-out and then won their service point to wrap up the 5th set and match win at 16-14.

Kentucky Christian was led offensively by Avery Crum and Kiahna Holmen with 16 kills each followed by Kayla Booher, Sarah Grindrod and Bailey Hall that were credited with eight apiece. Setting the plate for the hitting barrage was Reilly Hack who finished the match with 48 assists and was credited with three aces as well.

Defesively, KCU produced 100+ digs and 80+ receptions. The biggest contribution though, was the defense played at the net as the front row had 18 assisted blocks led by Hall's six and Holmen's four. The VolleyKnights travel to Alice Lloyd College for their next contest as they take on the Eagles on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
